Richard Lannowe Hall’s ‘Runners on Wet Sands II’ was painted in 2006. The work is a wonderful example of Hall's gift at capturing the transformative effect of sunlight upon water,
The painting shows Gwithian beach which lies to the east of St Ives and Hayle. This extremely long sandy beach is connected at low tide to Godrevy lighthouse, also pictured.
Hall studied at Guildford College of Art, North East London College of Art and the Royal Academy of Art, before settling in Cornwall where he has exhibited regularly.
