Bob Vigg was born in the West of England and lived for much of his professional life at Botallack near St Just in Penwith. With a constrained palette but an 'army of brushes', he worked briskly to capture the ever-changing weather and its impact upon land, sea and sky in West Penwith. Vigg exhibited broadly in the West Country and his work is found in leading private and public collections including, 'Penzance from Chyandour' 2000, in Penlee House Museum in Penzance.
Bob Vigg also travelled and painted extensively in France. Landscape Auvergne is one such work and depicts the countryside in this historical region of central France, part of Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes.
The artist has been long championed by the Tregeseal Gallery, just outside St Just on the road to St Ives. The present work was exhibited in that gallery.
