How do I sell my work on Cornish Artists?Once approved we will provide you with a straightforward means of uploading a short artist's bio and your artworks for sale. The principal requirement will be high quality photographs to best present your work.
What commission does Cornish Artists take?If you sell an original artwork, Cornish Artists will take a 15% commission on the final sale price. In addition the credit card/ transaction costs of approximately 2.5% will be deducted from the balance paid to you. If a discount is agreed with you and the buyer, the discount will be deducted from the price of the artwork and the 85/15 revenue split will then be calculated, so that we are sharing the discount with you. We've set our commission level this low to give the vast majority of the sale price to the artist and it compares very favourably with the 40 to 50% taken by many galleries and up to 35% required by other online platforms.
How does shipping work?Once you sell an artwork, you will receive an email confirming the sale. It is your responsibility to organise and pay for packaging and shipping. Please note that free UK shipping is offered on works over £500. For artworks under £500, an additional £10 for UK shipping is added to the sale price. International shipping costs are quoted to and paid by buyers separately. Cornish Artists will liaise with you to ensure that the buyer is kept informed of shipping progress.
Your payment will be organised 7 days after your artwork has been safely delivered to the collector. (The buyer has a 7-day cooling off period). You will be paid by bank transfer.
Cornish Artists exists to support and encourage the work of all artists working in or associated with Cornwall. If that’s you and you are at least 18 years of age, then you can sell your art on Cornish Artists.
Does Cornish Artists require exclusivity?
No. If you have gallery representation, we’re happy to have you on Cornish Artists as we have a non-exclusive policy. You may also sell via other online channels. However, for obvious reasons we do require exclusivity on the artworks that you exhibit for sale on cornishartists.co.uk. If you wish to sell any such artworks elsewhere, you must first suspend the artwork's listing with Cornish Artists. This requirement does not apply if you are exhibiting a work in a non-commercial, 'not for sale' environment.
What can I sell on Cornish Artists?
Cornish Artists provides a platform for artists to sell original, unique works in a variety of mediums, including: oil paints, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media, drawing and sculpture.
