VICTORIA POND

Victoria Pond is a professional artist based near the Helford Passage in West Cornwall. Having spent most of her life in rural North Wales and Cornwall, she has always appreciated the beauty of her natural surroundings and loves to immerse herself in nature sketching and painting from it, with the aim of communicating something of the feeling of that immersive experience. The results are expressive, both bold and sensitive.

Drawing from observation is the foundation of Victoria’s creative practice. When working in a more visceral way, whether abstracting the landscape or extracting it from the imagination, instinct is more of the essence than intellectual perception.

Victoria uses various surfaces and mediums, she believes that different materials and surfaces lend themselves to different techniques, marks and moods and to tie herself to one, would be to limit herself and her work.
