Gylly View is a powerful expression of Jane Roose’s view across Gyllyngvase Beach out across Falmouth Bay. This historic bay stretches from Pendennis Point in the east, with Henry VIII's famous Pendennis Castle, to the spectacle of the Manacles and Lizard Peninsula in the south west.
Jane Roose painted Gylly View en plein air and it's a good example of her vigorous brushwork and accomplished colourist approach.
