A beautiful bright watercolour by Eleanor Mary Hughes; a central and lifelong figure in the Lamorna colony of artists. Eleanor lived with her husband and fellow artist Robert Morson Hughes, in the home that they built in nearby St Buryan and kept her studio in Lamorna, close to this scene. This work is more boldly painted than many by the artist and doesn't employ her signature use of pencil to help define tree bark and foilage but instead strong washes of watercolour and possibly bodycolour in places

Provenance: Barnes Thomas Auction Rooms, 2007

  • 100% Money Back Guarantee

We know that once you receive your artwork you won’t want to part with it. But, if for any reason you’re not completely satisfied, just return your purchase within 7 days and we’ll issue a full refund.
